GENESIS MOTOR AMERICA ANNOUNCES A $250,000 GRANT TO BRIC IN BROOKLYN, NY TO SUPPORT YOUTH ARTS EDUCATION

Genesis Arts grants are presented by the Genesis Motor America Foundation to create education enrichment programs with partner organizations throughout the U.S.

BROOKLYN, NY – June 14, 2019 – Genesis Motor America announces today it will award a grant in the amount of $250,000 to BRIC, a non-profit organization, based in Brooklyn, New York. Genesis, the luxury automobile brand, continues its commitment to create unparalleled experiences for its luxury owners and its passion to serve the community. Through the creation of its own non-profit, Genesis Motor America Foundation, the organization has created a series of education grants to support arts enrichment programs for high school and college-aged youth in the United States. This two-year grant will allow BRIC to expand its music and arts program to provide access to free arts education to over 4,500 youth in the Brooklyn area and neighboring communities. An official check presentation will take place during the BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! Festival on Saturday, June 15th at the Prospect Park Bandshell and is free and open to the public from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. EST. 

BRIC is the leading presenter of free cultural programming in Brooklyn, and one of the largest in New York City. The organization presents and incubates work by artists and media-makers who reflect the diversity that surrounds us. BRIC programs reach hundreds of thousands of people each year.

Activities will include a live-mural painting by local artists and product display of the all-new Genesis G70 sedan, the 2019 North American Car of the Year. We are excited to share that iconic fashion designer, Karl Kani will join Genesis in the celebration. Attendees may enter to receive custom merchandise items to commemorate the occasion that includes a Karl Kani special edition logo.

BROOKLYN, NY – June 12, 2019 – Genesis Motor America announces today it will award a grant in the amount of $100,000 to ProjectArt, in Brooklyn, New York.  Genesis, the luxury automobile brand, continues its commitment to create unparalleled experiences for its luxury owners and its passion to serve the community.  Through the creation of its own non-profit, Genesis Motor America Foundation, the organization has created a series of education grants to support arts enrichment programs for high school and college-aged youth in the United States. An official check presentation to ProjectArt will take place at 3:00 pm on Friday, June 14th at the historic Central Library. We are excited to share that award winning actor, Malik Yoba, a Brooklyn native, will join Genesis in the celebration.

With this $100,000 grant, ProjectArt will expand its innovative arts training program in the New York area, in partnership with local area libraries, community artists and children. Further, this two-year grant from the Genesis Motor America Foundation will help the ProjectArt program provide hundreds of Brooklyn area students access to free art classes.

ProjectArt provides youth a safe space to create after school through partnerships with the nation’s public libraries. The non-profit offers tuition-free visual arts classes to students during the school year. Mentored and taught by local, culturally responsive resident artists, ProjectArt fosters the long-term benefits of arts education. The program teaches students the tools needed to overcome social barriers as they grow into thought-leaders and empowered young adults.

Luxury Automotive Brand Genesis Awards $500,000 To The J. Paul Getty Museum In Support Of Arts Education & Youth Community Programs

LOS ANGELES, Calif., Feb. 13, 2018 – Genesis USA continues its two-year charitable commitment to innovative education in communities awarding $500,000 to the J. Paul Getty Museum in the Genesis-Getty community partnership. The grant will fund education initiatives to benefit Title 1 high school students in the City of Los Angeles and surrounding communities. A special grant presentation ceremony will take place in conjunction with the kick-off of the 2018 Genesis Open, an official PGA TOUR tournament, on February 13th at the Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif. Proceeds from the purchase of every Genesis model in the U.S. will continue to benefit arts enrichment programs serving the youth.

The grant will be used to create an interactive learning experience connecting students with access to the arts via online platforms and in the students’ local communities. Thousands of high school students from underserved and Title 1 Schools in the Los Angeles area are expected to participate in the program at the Getty Center, with potentially thousands more joining the experience online.

The Genesis-Getty program is designed to provide programs that will consist of curriculum-based challenges and instruction that link the 21st century ideas of creativity and the arts with lifelong skills of critical thinking, communication and principles of relating disciplines.

The Genesis Open is bringing the next chapter in championship golf to The Riviera Country Club February 12 – 18, 2018, one of the most historic and longest-running events on the PGA TOUR. Proceeds from the Genesis Open will benefit the TGR Foundation supporting the organization’s college-access programs in Southern California.
